Communication skills can range from non-verbal communication to individuals who have good verbal skills but, unable to hold a meaningful conversation.  Some may have difficulty with pragmatic language which involves understanding body language, facial expressions, and other social communication.

These challenges can be addressed with Speech-language therapy, helping children with autism improve their verbal, nonverbal, and social communication in a more useful and functional way.
